Retreat 2016

Women Ministries Retreat  “Praying from the Heart” featuring Tara Rye from Omaha, September 30 – October 2, 2016 at Rock Springs 4-H Camp, Junction City, Kansas. Registration is $175 if paid in full by July 1.  Pay half by July 1, $90 and $90 at retreat. Register after July 1, $190.  Brochures are available at the Connection Center or www.womenminretreat.wix.com/kansas.

Quench Triennial XV July 28-31, 2016 in Kansas City, Missouri. – Connect, Refresh and Transform – This event only occurs every three years and it has never been in Kansas City; therefore, we have an opportunity in the City of Fountains to drink deeply of all that God has for you.  Registration Rate through April 15th is $399 and Late Rate after April 15this $439.  Hotel Reservations at the Sheraton  Crown Center:  Double (two queens) or king  for our group rate of $129 per night, plus taxes.  This can be done online at covchurch.org/triennial or over the phone by calling 816-841-1000.  Brochures with more information are at the Connection Center.  Three women from Brookwood Covenant have already registered.

Women Ministries Annual Christmas Ornament Exchange Monday, December 7th, at 6:00 P.M. at Jan Arms home.  Please bring an appetizer of your choice and a Christmas ornament for our ornament exchange.

*There were seven women who attended Retreat last weekend.  Brookwood women assembled and took 48 baskets for the Missions Baskets Auction which brought in $725.50 which was 40% of the total of $1,818.50.  The amount received from the books which were donated by individuals was $103. The women were inspired by the speaker, the Rev. Judy Howard Peterson, and were reacquainted with many friends.  It was a great weekend.

*Women Ministries Retreat –“ Putting Feet to Your Faith”,  October 2nd, 3rd and 4th 2015 at Rock Springs Ranch, Junction City, Kansas with Rev. Judy Howard Peterson as the speaker.  She is the campus pastor at North Park University where she walks alongside students as they seek after Jesus.  Registration is now $200.   Registration forms are at the Connection Center.  For more information or online registration visit www.womenminretreat.wix.com/kansas.

Saturday, April 18th, Tulip Time Festival at Lake Shawnee.  Details will be forthcoming.

Christmas Party

It’s that wonderful time of the year when the Deborah Circle will meet at Jan Arms on Monday, December 2rd, at 6:30 PM Bring an appetizer to share and a Christmas ornament for the annual Christmas ornament exchange. Jan’s address is 4220 SE Michigan and phone is 266-8174. All women are encouraged to attend for an evening of fun and fellowship.

Women’s Ministry Spring Soirée

TULIP TIME IN TOPEKA – April 8, 2013

Join us for a tour of the TED ENSLEY GARDENS at Lake Shawnee.

(3650 SE 37th and West Edge Road – met at the shelter house by the parking lot at 6 pm)

This garden spans 9 1/2 acres with 60,000 tulips and daffodils, surrounded by rock gardens, a covered

bridge, gazebo, pergola, waterfalls, streams and several ponds.  Dave Bartels will be our tour guide again

this year and he is full of information about tulips as well as the gardens themselves!

$5.00 Donation

Stay for pie and coffee in the shelter house.

St Lucia Craft 

The group plans to meet and work on Crafts to March 21st. The craft is Glass Totems. This year’s event is December 7, 2013.

Tote bags for The YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment (Battered Women’s) were made recently by Jan Arms, Berva Cutler, Bonnie Holmsten, Judy Rogers and Alma Baker. Donated fabric was used.

Personal items are also being collected for The YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment. Suggested items: toiletries, socks, underwear, games, toys, cell phones, women/children clothing which a mother with children needs when leaving home quickly. Please place your items in the blue hamper at the Connection Center.
